Due to their mobility and transience, digital nomads find maintaining intimate relationships with both friends and lovers alike challenging, often ending in loneliness.

To mediate this, Palzone aims to use technology to redefine intimacy for digital nomads, through augmenting time and space. This is attempted through diminishing proximity, facilitating immediate engagement, allowing simultaneous partners, and bridging non-simultaneous interaction between users.

Broadly, we aim to explore intimate relations across four user groups, namely: platonic pairs, platonic group, romantic monogamies, and romantic groups. As such, Palzone comprises a website that gathers information and matches compatible participants, as well as a VR space where participants create and experience intimate spaces together. Subsequently, users assemble their own virtual spaces by piecing components together from a curated glossary, before experiencing both their spaces up close during a virtual date.
Ultimately, the progressive encounters aim to bring users through the four stages of intimacy: physical, experiential, intellectual and psychological. We hope to prove that being a digital nomad does not have to be lonely.
